Burrows lab undergraduate researcher David Moskal has been awarded a competitive Summer Research Scholarship from the Bachelor of Health Sciences program to work with PhD candidate Sara Kilmury on a key regulator of type IV pilus function. Sara uncovered new information showing that this regulator controls more phenotypes, and in unexpected ways, than was previously appreciated. Together she and David will determine how inactivating or hyperactivating the regulator affects P. aeruginosa physiology including drug resistance and pathogenicity, which can help us think of new ways to block this important pathogen. Congratulations David, and welcome to the lab!
