Burrows lab undergraduate researcher Richard Nguyen was awarded a highly competitive CF Canada summer studentship to support his work aimed at understanding how antibiotic resistance and pathogenicity are linked in the major CF pathogen, Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Richard, who is mentored by CFC Fellow Dr. Ryan Lamers, worked in the lab last summer as well, testing drug combinations on highly resistant strains, before joining McMaster’s new Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization program. After completing his summer studies, he will be staying on for his 4th year research thesis to expand on his CFC-funded research. Congratulations Richard, and thank you to the hard working volunteers who fund raise for CF research!
