Ryan Lamers presents at GRC on New Antibacterial Drug Discovery

Cystic Fibrosis Canada Postdoctoral Fellow Ryan Lamers gave a talk at the Gordon Research Symposium on New Antibacterial Drug Discovery in Barga, Italy, about his search for drugs that can restore beta lactam susceptibility in P. aeruginosa HARMs (high AmpC resistant mutants). Beta lactams are important drugs for this opportunistic pathogen but its ability to become resistant under treatment has made them less useful. His compounds restore the ability of beta lactams to kill HARM strains.
