Michael Ranieri, a summer student in the Burrows lab who will start his Masters program in September, received one of two Michael Kamin Hart Summer Undergraduate Scholarships. These awards, which are funded by the Hart family in memory of MKH – a former Biochemistry Masters student – recognize undergraduate students who consistently demonstrate leadership and academic excellence, as well as genuine passion for scientific discovery as they move into their graduate career. Mike’s project involves determining how the venerable antibiotic thiostrepton is able to kill multidrug resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Congratulations Mike!
